
Miguel Angel Museum in Florencia
Located on the bank of the river Arno, in Florencia, the museum presents some of the most important works of Miguel Angel. The museum is situated in one of the areas with highest number of visitors, between the Palace of Guidicci and the Gallery of Uffizi, in a square plot. The museum is orientated to the south view, in front of the river that goes from the West to the East and it has a grass ground just between the museum and the river. The museum is next to a square that is located at the eastern facade.
The main access to the museum is located in the south façade, in front of the river, and there are two entrances: one for the shop and one for the museum. On the ground floor there is a chapel, the exposition is on the next levels. These levels are joined by stairs, placed like a spiral rotating around the chapel, and generating different height spaces. The shape of the building is like a cube, but the stories inside are different. The lifts are in the eastern zone of the museum, and they go from the ground floor to the upper floor. The museum has different height windows to enlighten the different spaces, in the southern and eastern façades, so this permeate of natural light all the museum, that helps to the visitor to look at the works with a special light.
The exposition of Miguel Angel is organized in different levels. On the ground floor the chapel is a copy of the Chapel of Medici. On the next floors there are eight sculptures of Miguel Angel. On the first floor there is Genius of Victory. On the second floor there is Baco, David Apolo, Hercules y Caco, Revel Slave and Dying Slave. On the upper floor there is Moisés, and The Piety.
