Sokek Sports Center. Czech Republic
The project is located in Hrušovany, a small town in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. The bases of the competition said that a new center for the Sokek should be created. Sokek is a sports association with a great trajectory and reputation throughout the country since Soviet times.
The aim of this design is based on the concept of the complex as a part of the public space. Leaving open the space in front of the street inviting to enjoy the public space open to all residents of the area some of what currently lacks the municipality.
The new construction volumes of the site, instead of modeling the urban space and the natural movement of visitors, reveals the current value of the area - conserving and rehabilitating the old gym building and the trees around which it really rotates life in the area. To this existing building we add another one, which will be the new sports center and gymnasium, creating between half of both the entrance and the access to the building.
Use a vocabulary of sports and networking fences. The constructed volumes are complemented with diverse networks, rods, cables and vegetal structure that serve to configure different scenarios and external polyvalent spaces.
As far as the use has been designed to be able to maintain a flexible program in function of the changing events in which the building is used. Event organizers can use a wide range of conference rooms
